Modesto Police

Modesto Police Detectives are looking for information from the community. On August 19, 2016 at approximately 2 am, Mark Esparza (pictured here) was being chased in the area of Mt. Vernon and Prescott Road in Modesto, by another vehicle which shot at him causing Esparza to crash into a tree. Esparza was killed by the collision and the suspect vehicle fled the area. Detectives have identified a possible suspect vehicle but are looking for any additional witnesses who may have seen the chase and subsequent shooting.

Can you ID this suspect? On December 3, 2016, this suspect entered the Metro PCS store at 2900 Standiford Avenue in Modesto. He then used a gun to rob the store. Modesto Detectives are looking for the identity of this suspect or a description of their vehicle. This suspect robbed the Flower Gallery at 950 Oakdale Road, in Modesto on February 18, 2017 at approximately 5:25 pm. The suspect fled from the area in an unidentified vehicle.

UPDATE: Sheriff's Department have reported another robbery with the same suspect description and vehicle. This robbery was on 11/25/16 at Subway 4925 Sisk Road in Salida. ------ Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department is looking for your help in identifying this suspect. The suspect is believed to be responsible for three robberies in Salida. The first robbery was at Little Ceasars Pizza on Sisk Road on 10/18/15, next was at La Espiga Bakery on Curtis on 12/10/15 and lastly at AM/PM on Salida Boulevard on 12/19/15. Ceres Police Department

On November 27, 2016, at approximately 11:23 pm, three Hispanic males in their late teens to early twenties went into the Chevron located at 2080 Whitmore Avenue. in Ceres and stole four cases of beer and physically assaulted the store clerk before leaving. The suspects fled in a dark colored SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer. Modesto Police Detectives are looking for the communitys help in regards to this unsolved case. On Saturday, November 26th, 2016, at approximately 5 p.m., Modesto Police Department officers responded to the report of a stabbing in the 100 block of Almond Ave. When officers arrived they found 56-year-old Patrick Hutchings from Modesto who had been stabbed. Hutchings was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he died a short time later. Detectives continue their investigation into the events that led up to the stabbing, a motive behind the incident and into any suspects that may have been involved. Modesto Police Department

On December 20, 2016 this suspect stole items from Kohls. When the suspect was confronted outside by Loss Prevention Officers the suspect took off running to a black 90s model four door car. The Loss Prevention Officers chased and when the suspect got into the car the suspect threatened and gestured that he had a gun. The suspect then took off with the clothing.
