August 11, 2025
Homicide Investigation Underway, Following Shooting in Modesto
On the morning of August 11, 2025, at approximately 4:40 a.m., Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of gunfire in the 300 block of Olivero Road in Modesto.
Upon arrival, deputies located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The individual was identified as Felipe Ramirez, a 30-year-old resident of Ceres. Ramirez was transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased due to the severity of his injuries.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and have assumed responsibility for the ongoing investigation. Preliminary information suggests the shooting took place during a large party attended by over 100 individuals.
We are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information related to the case to contact Detective Rodriguez at (209) 567-4485. Individuals wishing to remain anonymous can submit tips by calling Stanislaus County Area Crime Stoppers at 1-866-60-CRIME (1-866-602-7463).
The investigation is active and ongoing. No further details are available at this time.
Ceres PD – Request for Public Assistance

STATUS: OPEN
On the evening of July 4, 2025, at approximately 9:00 PM, officers from the Ceres Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Twilight Drive following reports of an explosion that damaged a vehicle. Several occupants inside the vehicle sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.
Detectives are actively investigating the case and are seeking the public’s assistance. We are requesting any information that could help identify the individual captured in the attached video and photo.
The suspect is described as a male wearing possibly a light-colored shirt and shorts, last seen on foot in the area. He is wanted in connection with Possession of a Destructive Device, along with other related offenses.
Residents in the area are urged to check their home security camera footage from around the time of the incident and report any suspicious individuals or activity that may aid the investigation.

Modesto Police Detectives are looking to identify this suspect who stole a watch from a victim after meeting him near a business in the 2000 block of McHenry Avenue in Modesto on 5-15-2025.
The suspect was described as black male adult 23-24 years old, 6', 150-160 pounds, tattoos on his arms and had a cast on his left arm.

Fire Investigators responded to a fatal fire at the Lazy Wheels Mobile Home Park, at 1941 E. Whitmore Ave, Ceres, late last night. Fire crews responded to a fire in a shed at the mobile home park. A deceased victim was located within the shed. The origin and cause of the fire is still under investigation.
